About Us

The Hickory Stick Ice Cream & More isn’t just a parlor—it’s a destination wrapped in history, hospitality, and rich swirls of flavor. Nestled inside the lovingly restored one-room Gehman Schoolhouse, which educated local children until the 1950s, the space itself is steeped in stories. Now, instead of lessons and recess, it’s the backdrop for shared laughter, sticky fingers, and summertime smiles.

Our commitment to serving super-premium ice cream is as deep-rooted as the building’s past. We carefully craft every scoop with top-tier ingredients, ensuring texture, taste, and richness that linger long after the last bite. Whether you're drawn to bold flavors like espresso-infused Coffee or crave a nostalgic hit of classic chocolates, every item on our menu is a celebration of indulgence and care. And it’s not just ice cream—try our local favorites like Stocks Pound Cake and other homestyle desserts that make even weekday visits feel like a celebration.

We’re more than a place to cool off—we’re a warm invitation to savor the present while honoring the past. Families, friends, and curious passersby gather here not just for the treats, but for the welcoming atmosphere and the sense that something special is always being served—whether from the freezer or from the heart.

At The Hickory Stick, every visit is a moment worth remembering. We’re proud to be part of the community, excited to serve, and always eager to scoop up a little joy.

Our dedication to super-premium ice cream and community care distinguishes us... we're excited to serve you.

Gehman's School House boasts a fascinating history, starting as the Pierce Free Library for many years. It later transitioned into an antique store, then became Schoolhouse Candies. In 2013, it found new life as The Hickory Stick Ice Cream, now a cherished ice cream spot in Upper Bucks County.
